Light commercial vehicles are a minimum of four wheels, used for the carriage of goods. Mass given in tons (metric tons) is used as a limit between light commercial vehicles and heavy trucks.

Light vehicles can include passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

Driver walk-around checks should take at least 15 min to complete and must be performed every day before a vehicle goes out on the road. Defects in service should be reported as and when they come, via the relevant procedures included in the company policy.

There is no difference between LGV and HGV they mean the same!

Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) is an older term and Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) is a newer EU term.

A Class 1 license allows you to drive a category C+E vehicle, commonly referred to as an articulated lorry, or artic.

A Class 2 license allows you to drive a category C vehicle, or what is frequently referred to as a rigid.

A Light Commercial Vehicle or LCV is another term for a van, it refers to vans that weigh 3500kgs (3.5-tonnes) or less, which includes vans like the Ford Transit or the Mercedes Sprinter.

Light Commercial Vehicles are vehicles constructed for the carriage of goods or specialised equipment which are less than or equal to 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM).

These include utility vehicles, panel vans, cab chassis, and goods carrying vans with a GVM of fewer than 3.5 tonnes.
